… Mamas Matter …
That’s what Life In the MotherShip is all about.
Here, we desire to be transparent, vulnerable, and real. We desire to tell the truth about being a mom, a wife, a friend.
We blog to mothers of all ages: past, present, and future.
Because, let’s face it: once you’re a mom, you’re always a mom.
And sometimes we aren’t biological mothers, but we most certainly are mothers.
We encourage and lift up kids in the neighborhood, at our churches, in our families.
So here, we accept and want to write for all types of mothers.
Everyone has a story. I’m here for yours.
If you have stories or tips to share, we’d love to hear them!

A Few Notes to Keep In Mind:
The author of the blog and website reserves the right to use sound judgement concerning submissions.
Political posts will not be accepted. That’s not what this blog is about.
We do not wish to bash men, husbands, or fathers. Yes, we may have suffered at the hands or voices of these men, but we can always present a story in light of our experience without tearing them down. Please make note of that should you need to share something traumatic.
Submission Guidelines:
1. To submit, click the buttons on this page that contain EMAIL ALYCIA. This will take you to my email address.
2. Please use Word.doc or Word.doxc files only. I will not accept Pages submissions. Attach your submission to the email.
3. There is no need for submission of photos for post headers. If I wish to have a photo for your post, I will ask for it.
4. Please DO submit a photo of yourself (a headshot) and a brief (150 words or fewer) bio.
5. Formatting: Times New Roman 12 pt font, double spaced lines. Do not use two spaces between sentences. (That’s old school.) One inch margins all around.
6. In the body of the email, please let me know where you discovered Life In the MotherShip and why you’d like to share with our readers. Attach your blog post and bio (all one document) and your bio photo. In the subject line of your email, please put: Submission for Life In the MotherShip.
Payment:
We are currently unable to pay you a fee for your submission. One day, we hope to be able to do so, as we love to support authors and bloggers. However, for now, the only support we’re able to provide is a line on your resume, which we would love to be a part of.

You own the rights to anything we may publish. We thank you for sharing your writing and heart with us.
I look forward to hearing from you!
